The Opportunity:
Enel North America (ENA), a leading provider of demand management solutions, has an immediate need for a Regional Sales Director to join our world class Demand Response Sales organization. As our Regional Sales Director, your primary task will be to deliver a profitable and aggressive revenue growth plan through managing and coaching Business Development Managers and developing new business for ENA. One’s prior experience as both a sales leader and individual contributor will equip this individual with the proper skill set for delivering against a challenging sales strategy. The Regional Sales Director will be held accountable to an aggressive quota in addition to attracting long-term customers and achieving high employee satisfaction ratings. 

In this role, the Regional Sales Director will apply expert sales mechanics and an intimate knowledge of end-user energy usage to growing our world class business in your targeted region. Your time will be dedicated to managing a team of salespeople to maximize their productivity and provide tactical management of the sales effort in their region and working with them to develop new business and drive revenue for the company. As a team player and proven sales leader who consistently exceeds your goals and quotas, you will set the cultural tone for our progressive organization as someone who rolls up their sleeves and tackles problems to empower our growth.

What You'll Do at Enel North America:
  • Provide sales coaching to Business Development Managers to achieve goals, including proposal development, sales meeting structure, negotiation support, and customer service
  • Assist in the hiring, training, and retention of Business Development Managers to execute against the region’s sales and margin plan
  • Provide regular reporting to sales leadership of all regional sales activities consistent with Enel’s sales processes and reporting systems. Responsible for accuracy and achievement of quarterly forecast delivered to Director of Sales;
  • Develop go to market strategies to align your cross-functional support teams and drive exceptional results from your direct field team
  • Define an operating rhythm for your team that translates to achievement of sales quota, quarter after quarter, and the recruitment of high-performance customers
  • Work with Enel’s portfolio of offerings to develop solutions that solve the customer's business problems
  • Empower direct line sales team with tools and support to generate qualified opportunities and close business by partnering with Marketing and Sales Operations to ensure each market has quality, accurate sales materials;
  • Model sales excellence in major deals; negotiating and closing contracts directly with customers as needed;
  • Recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential
  • Coordinate go to market activities with other Enel managers and departments to meet regional capacity delivery commitments and goals
  • Attend industry conferences and representing Enel
  • Deliver weekly, quarterly, and annual sales metrics

Who You Are:
  • Consistently exceeded quota in each of the last 3 years in sales of energy solutions, energy hardware, energy software, or energy management solutions in the commercial, institutional, and/or industrial markets
  • Ability to develop strong customer relationships; strong interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively support and work well with people from different disciplines;
  • Ability to illustrate ROI to C-level decision-makers, as well as interacting with facilities managers and engineers
  • Fluency in Excel, SalesForce, PPT and financial analysis

What You've Accomplished:
  • B.S./B.A in engineering, business management, liberal arts or economics
  • 7+ years of outside sales experience
  • 3+ years of B2B sales experience (experience managing direct reports is preferred)
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in field sales for an energy supplier, an energy technology provider, an engineering consulting firm, or an unregulated division or subsidiary of a utility
    • An established network of target market contacts in your assigned territory

What Enel North America Offers You:
The hiring range for this position is $148,300.00-203,900.00annually. For remote positions, this is based on a national average base pay for this role. For positions in California this range will be specific to the location in California. The actual range may vary based on the geographic location of the chosen candidate. For all positions, the base pay actually offered will take into account various factors, including internal equity and job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
