The Opportunity:

This role manages and has overall responsibility for HSEQ activity and support in the assigned O&M region. This position provides consultative support to management and employees with the goal of creating and maintaining the company Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) values and programs.  This regional position will support renewable energy operations & maintenance activities.   


What You'll Do at Enel North America:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Maintain, develop and implement the HSEQ Management System, focused around company values, goals, objectives, and various compliance obligations, including ISO 9001, 14001 & OHSAS 18001/45001, 37001).  
  • Maintain HSEQ deficiency tracking system that monitors outstanding deficiencies until resolution.  
  • Ensure organizational compliance with health, safety, and quality requirements, as well as environmental and permit requirements. 
  • Define local HSEQ strategy, directives, targets, and KPIs.Ensure effective implementation of above by monitoring the performance and condition in assigned region 
  • Track contractor’s HSE performance and adherence to site HSE policies and rules. 
  • Direct HSEQ resources to provide consultative support to the Operations and Maintenance Team. 
  • Provide consultative support to Contractors on EGPNA Projects in order to maintain continuity of values at the contract / subcontract level. 
  • Responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of the operations injury management program, including but not limited to, supporting the development of programs for reducing incidents and minor injuries in line with company goals. 
  • Lead, or coordinate root cause analyses investigation, documentation, and corrective action implementation for HSEQ non-conformities, near misses and incidents. 
  • Addressing and supporting teams and customers at the area/field level in reviewing conditions, defining action plans as needed and monitoring their implementation. 
  • Manage the design and implementation of initiatives/projects at the North America level aimed at improving performance in the area. 
  • Responsible for the  support of the Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001, 37001. 
  • Direct and when required, conduct routine observations to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, company environmental, health, and safety policies, and practices.  
  • Investigate and take appropriate actions concerning employee requests, complaints and concerns involving HSEQ conditions/practices.  
  • Develop specific programs and conduct hazard analysis as required.  
  • Perform risk assessments for industrial processes, proactively and on the spot, to support the planning and safe execution of O&M work. 
  • Operate in a dynamic environment, prioritizing response to organizational needs. 
  • Manage and administrate the company’s incident database to ensure timely, accurate reporting. 
  • Serve as the HSEQ representative on various Safety Committees, Management Review Meetings, and Contractor or Customer interface. 
  • Training: manage, facilitate, develop, and deliver HSEQ training as required.  
  • Report incidents according to corporate obligations, both internally and externally to stakeholders as necessary 
  • Interpret safety and health regulatory obligations applying to operations and maintenance of power generation projects 
  • Acts with integrity in all HSEQ matters to maintain compliance and excellence.  
  • Supports Special Projects as required, including coordination of and/or participating in various company HSEQ initiatives. 
  • Participate in or lead cross function project or audit teams to support the company HSEQ program. 
  • Contribute to the overall needs and objectives of the unit and company.  
  • Maintain a positive rapport with various state and federal regulatory agencies. 
  • Maintain data integrity within all data systems, including SAP. 

Who You Are:

  • Excellent communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills required 
  • Comparing, copying, calculating, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and database applications (SAP a plus) 
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong initiative and drive for high achievement and continuous improvement approach 
  • Ability to be on call or work off hours as needed  
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player with passion, drive, and the ability to self-start 
  • Ability to influence 

What You've Accomplished:

Qualifications 

  • BS in Health, Safety, Environment, Quality, or related work experience 
  • 4-8 years of related experience  
  • Experience with operations and maintenance and working knowledge of relevant regulations and practice 
  • Experience with coaching and training on HSE topics and delivering presentations 
  • Experience working within integrated management systems/quality systems including audits ((ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001, 37001)

The hiring range for this position is $91,200.00 to $125,400.00 per year. For remote positions, this is based on a national average base pay for this role. For positions in California this range will be specific to the location in California. The actual range may vary based on the geographic location of the chosen candidate. For all positions, the base pay actually offered will take into account various factors, including internal equity and job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
