The Opportunity:
Leads project development for a region of North America. Responsible for managing a team of project developers who are each managing individual wind, solar and/or storage projects within the Region.

What You'll Do at Enel North America:
• Maintain active involvement in day-to-day work as needed to ensure project success. This is included but not limited to landowner meetings, permit hearings, meetings with regulatory bodies, site visits, etc.
• Ensuring that all project management tools and reports are created and updated by the development manager – including training regarding how to complete those items, ensuring that they align with risks, strategy, critical milestone dates, and reality.
• Ensuring that project managers complete and regularly update budgets, timelines, databases (such as Horizon) and are aligning each with the project strategy.
• Attend, with some regularity, individual project team meetings, real estate meetings, PR meetings, engineering meetings, and other meetings as appropriate to ensure team is functioning well and strategy is achieved – particularly for priority projects within the region.
• Ensure that discussions are occurring with developers and subject matter experts to determine project-level budgets in concert with portfolio strategy and project level attributes – including leading such discussions, from time to time as appropriate. Increased focus on ensuring that project-level variance reports occur on a regular basis.
• Maintaining an in-depth understanding of applicable RTO processes, costs, and timelines. Balancing project-level development strategy with timing of interconnection deposits, non-refund-ability dates, critical decision points, and total project viability as it relates to project interconnection and network upgrade risk.
• Reviewing strategy with P&E team and developers, supporting as needed in local and state hearings, providing guidance to CUP/SUP/PSC processes, ensuring environmental risks are accurately managed and mitigated, including development activities as well as operational strategies and associated financial model inputs. Reviewing and approving permit applications/reports, including all exhibits/attachments, to ensure compliance with project goals, company strategy and constraints as well as minimizing risk.
• When appropriate, testify on behalf of the project at permitting hearings, including being cross-examined as a witness, while maintaining the utmost professionalism throughout such proceedings.
• Ability to professionally complete live interviews from newspaper, radio, and TV stations, as well as public speak to large, potentially unsupportive, groups of 200+ stakeholders.
• Effectively communicating regional project portfolio status, risks, and mitigation strategies to senior management executives.
• Quickly assessing new developments at projects to understand the cascading effect of those changes across the project timeline, strategy, and de-risking points – effectively working with project manager and project team to develop a mitigation and recovery plan to deliver the project successfully.
• Mentoring direct reports and ensuring that team members have resources necessary to deliver project strategies.
• Lead, from a project development perspective, review of asset sale agreements and negotiation on those agreements they pertain to development activities, ensuring that the contractual obligations of the company can be upheld with appropriate risk levels.
• Review development statuses of potential acquisition projects to ensure that the risks and project status is solidly understood, assessed, and accounted for in the project plan and acquisition documentation/pricing – effectively communicate those statuses and risks to management to make an informed recommendation for investment.
• Review all final documentation from project development for the investment committee approval process to ensure accuracy and that all costs are accounted for, make appropriate recommendations to management on the status and risks to make an informed investment decision.
