JOB TITLE: Manager, Contract Management (Execution Phase)

Duties:
  • Offer guidance to the Contract Managers working in the Execution Phase on daily activities by monitoring daily workload and redistribute temporarily if necessary to support each other.
  • Review main contract invoices and change orders with the Contract Managers to be aware of potential issues.
  • Analyze and coordinate the schedule, timeline, procurement, staffing, and budget of a product or service on a per project basis; lead and guide the work of technical staff; may serve as a point of contact for the client or customer.
  • Support CMa by attending bi-weekly or monthly meetings with Cost Controllers for each project along with the CMa and Cadm to review pending change orders or issues.
  • Interface or intercept with other requesting units requesting Engineering & Construction (E&C) to handle their requests.
  • Assure adherence from the team to E&C procedures and consistency of documentation and filing.
  • Coordinate with the Head of Contract Management Team—North America (CMT-NA), and the CMT Tender/Negotiation Phase Manager on all new contract tenders including lessons learned and updated specifications to assure the contracts work for the Execution Phase.
  • Participate in the contract handover meetings from Tender/Negotiation Phase to Execution Phase.
  • Participate in Global CMT Meetings and support the responses for requested data and presentations.
  • Participate in a weekly meeting with Head of CMT-NA to keep informed of any process issues, workload, or performance issues.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and work with the individual units to write up any new process and disseminate through training.
  • Assist the Head of CMT-NA with planning monthly topics for training the team.
  • Become a trusted internal resource and build strong partnerships and successful cross-department relationships with Procurement, Business Development, Finance and Legal.
  • 25% domestic and international travel is required.
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 100%.
Requirements:
The position requires a Bachelor degree, or foreign equivalent, in Business, Engineering (Any), or a related field plus 8 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Experience must include:
8 years of experience with the following:
  • Contract management, project management, or legal experience (preparation and evaluation of contracts), in an engineering and construction environment with large scale construction projects.
3 years of experience with each of the following:
  • Budget preparation and management.
  • Leadership or team management.
Demonstrable experience with each of the following:
  • Strong project management skills in an Engineering and Construction environment working in utility scale renewable energy projects.
  • Expert knowledge of construction contracts including procedures, legal issues, and terminology.
  • Working knowledge of risk assessment, auditing, and risk management techniques.
  • Working knowledge of purchasing and expediting procedures.
  • Experience with ERP systems, including SAP (MM-PUR module).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Power Point, Outlook, Teams, and Excel (including Pivot Table, VLookup VBA, Automation formulas, and ability to manage excel data with over 700 lines and columns on daily basis).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work within multi-cultural and multi¬disciplinary environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information orally and in writing, including explaining methodology and consequences of decisions in lay terms to internal and external stakeholders and senior management.
  • Ability to analyze situations and information and formulate a plan of action.
  • Superior organizational skills and detail oriented to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity and change.
  • Strong ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects and meet deadlines, and experience leading project teams in a fast-paced environment to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Ability to lead project teams working within a global framework and a matrix organization, and within a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
Position also requires Advanced Practitioner World Commerce and Contracting certification awarded by the World Commerce and Contracting Association, or the previous version of this certification which was formerly the Contract & Commercial Management Advanced Practitioner (CMMAP) certification awarded by the International Association for Contract and Commercial Management.
