The Opportunity:

Enel is seeking an experienced and high-achieving leader of its origination team; a team player with a deep base of industry contacts at investor-owned utilities, municipal power agencies, cooperatives, large C&I clients as well as trading firms. A proven track record of originating, negotiating and closing long term power purchase agreements and other similar agreements is a must.   The ideal candidate will have experience with wind, solar and energy storage origination activities in both organized and vertically integrated markets. This person will be a member of the team reporting to the CCO.  The candidate must be highly organized and articulate, have the ability to work on multiple concurrent tasks and operate either from our Kansas City area office or remotely.  Travel to clients and relevant conferences will be required.



What You'll Do at Enel North America:
  • Lead origination and negotiation of renewable energy project power and associated products contracts; following and executing all the necessary internal and external approvals relating to the same
  • Market existing pipeline of wind, solar and energy storage projects to utility, C&I and other potential clients. Ensure that all negotiated contracts are financeable
  • Responsible for keeping a pulse on the market, identifying new opportunities/product offerings as well as evolving best practices for relevant market-leading contractual terms and conditions
  • Manage and cultivate customer relationships with electric utilities, municipalities, cooperatives and industrial customers
  • Work collaboratively with management and development teams to ensure markets with growth potential are tapped early and projects are developed to match customers’ needs
  • Formulate and effect, in conjunction with other members of the management team, market entry and target market share sizing strategy
  • Optimize pricing strategy (both in terms of risk as well as profitability) in conjunction with all Company input provider
  • Prepare for and participate in the Company’s pre-investment and investment processes. Ensure compliance with such processes through the contracting negotiation and execution
  • Promote and ensure continuous integration between all members of the team
Who You Are:
  • Demonstrated success in negotiating and developing lasting client relationships
  • High energy, a strong work ethic, trustworthy, honest and friendly personality, ability to independently prioritize and plan work and manage competing deadlines
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, coupled with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in managing high performing and geographically distributed teams
  • Strong client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Adaptability and flexibility to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity and change
  • Ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines
  • Highly developed business acumen
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively support and work well with other disciplines
  • A valid driver’s license operable in all 50 states and Canada;
  • Extensive travel within the U.S. with routine trips to Kansas City 

What You've Accomplished:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Management, Finance, Engineering or similar
  • 8+ years of experience in the utility or IPP industry
  • 5+ years of experience in a comparable origination role in wind and/or solar energy
  • Significant experience with power contract negotiations and structuring
  • Familiarity with project development, transaction negotiations, finance and project investment valuation
  • Strong contacts at electric utilities, municipalities, cooperatives, C&I and trading firms
  • Proficient with project pro forma financial concepts as well as project finance concepts and structures

What Enel North America Offers You:
The hiring range for this position is $179,700 - $247,170 a year. For remote positions, this is based on a national average base pay for this role. For positions in California this range will be specific to the location in California. The actual range may vary based on the geographic location of the chosen candidate. For all positions, the base pay actually offered will take into account various factors, including internal equity and job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
