Job Position and Business line: Business Development-Pipeline

Type of Contract: Full Time

Place of employment: Gurgaon, India

The Role: Come join us in the BD team responsible for originating renewable sites for driving Enel’s growth in India.

Who you’ll work with: This role is to support the team responsible for land acquisition for the pipeline wind and solar projects in key Northern states like Rajasthan, Gujarat, MP, Punjab, etc.

What you will do:

  • Co-ordinate and participate in developing a strategy for existing wind & solar pipeline projects in the company.
  • Update management on new or change in renewable policies at state and federal level.
  • Preparation of standard operating procedures for various activities involved in wind & solar power project development.
  • Preparation of investment notes and presentations for selected pipeline projects.
  • Preparation of tender/bidding documents for selection of land aggregators.
  • Drafting and negotiating land development contracts for appointing a selected land aggregator.
  • Managing performance and obligations under the land development contracts.
  • Ensuring timely payment under the land development contracts.
  • Coordinate and engagement with land aggregators/developers on issues related to title of land and its sale/lease deeds.
  • Track complete process of pipeline projects till the handing over to cross functional team.
  • Stay updated on market intelligence, including ongoing wind, solar, and hybrid tenders from both State and Central auctions.
  • Develop and maintain a strong land pipeline in target states/regions aligned with company capacity addition goals.
  • Assess key technical and commercial parameters (irradiation, wind speed, proximity to grid, topography, access, etc.).
  • Conduct preliminary screening and title due diligence of identified lands.
  • Coordinate with legal teams for land title verification, mutation and registration processes.
  • Negotiate with landowners, aggregators and local authorities for lease/purchase/option agreements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local land aggregators, government officials, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Work closely with internal departments (engineering, legal, finance, HSEQ, etc.) for site feasibility and approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with local land laws, environmental regulations, and renewable energy policy frameworks.
  • Support obtaining necessary land-related permits, clearances, and right-of-way approvals.

What you’ll bring:

  • Good command in using MS Office tools, Google Earth, SAP, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills and knowledge of Hindi language to manage pipeline assets in North India
  • Should have 5-10 years of experience in business development activities for wind and solar projects.
  • Should have practical experience of procuring approval/permits in Indian renewable energy sector.
  • Must have worked on at least 500 MW cumulative wind and/or solar project capacity.
  • Have experience of performing Land diligence and acquiring development approvals.
  • Strong understanding of land acquisition processes, state policies, and renewable energy regulatory frameworks.
  • Proficiency in GIS, Google Earth, and basic mapping tools is desirable.
  • Experience of drafting land development contracts pertaining to wind and solar projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and comprehension skills.
  • Good team working skills.
