Senior Economic Development Reporting Specialist

Reporting to the Head of Economic Development Reporting department, the successful applicant will be responsible for the activities of the EGP South Africa Economic Development Reporting department.
Apart from the timely and accurate fulfilment of all Economic Development Reporting Obligations on a timely manner the Economic Development Reporting Department is also expected to contribute to the activities of the Planning and Control Department, mainly for the budgeting process. The incumbent is also responsible for BBBEE compliance of EGP RSA and all 12 SPVs, including providing support to the Impofu Cluster of Projects.
- Ensure that all documentation linked to the data are correctly collated and that all reporting required for project is done accurately and in time.
- Constant monitoring and comparison of actual vs. targets, gap analysis and proposal of corrective actions
- Complete the Annexure A per project and review Annex B per beneficiary for SED and ED including the relevant supporting documentation,
- Ensure that Annex A and Annex B check sheets figures balances to completed Annex A as required by IPP office
- Ensure that the allocated SPV’s Economic Development Obligations (EDO) are compiled in accordance with the Implementation Agreement’s quarterly obligations.
- Responsible for the submission of Quarterly reports to the Department
- Prepare monthly Reports and Gap Analysis, including mitigation plans.
- Record and store all information required to meet the audit requirements of the Department of Energy relating to the Economic Development Obligation including, but not limited to, the confirmations from each vendor or supplier of their BBBEE status, job creation numbers and any other relevant information to be reported as per the Implementation Agreement.
- Develop and manage a system that records and reports this information in the format that the IPP Office may require from time to time.
- Resolve all queries related to Economic Development Reporting received from IPP Office within deadlines stipulated.
- Attend monthly review meetings and present monthly and Quarterly performance to Construction and Operations team
- Analyse the economic development obligations of all awarded projects and advise Head of Sustainability and Head of Operations and Maintenance
- Monitor and report on the compliance of each project with such obligations vs internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide necessary advice to all stakeholders on the optimization of economic development programs
- The incumbent is required to inform promptly the relevant HoD in case of any deviation from the obligation as reported in the Implementation Agreement.
· Conduct random audits to ensure job creation and procurement supporting documents are in order
- Assist in the preparation of ED bid responses and strategic concepts development
· Training of sub-contractors on Economic Development reporting
· Other ad hoc requests.
- Bcom Degree in Economics or Accounting
- Post-Graduate Degree will be considered as an asset
- Working knowledge of SAP will be considered an asset.
- Previous experience in REIPPP and BBBEE verifications beneficial
- Ability to respect deadlines and work for additional hours
