The Opportunity:
Enel X is looking for a bright and collaborative force-multiplier to join our team changing the way the world uses energy. The goal of the Energy Markets group at Enel X is to connect “any asset to any market and any value stream” to enable a more sustainable energy future. The Systems and Analytics team, which sits within the Energy Markets group, contributes to Enel X’s mission by supporting the management and optimization of Enel X’s Demand Response (DR) and Distributed Energy Resource (DER) portfolios in North America.
In this role you will be responsible for developing and enhancing solutions to support customer qualification, performance evaluation, financial reporting, risk management, and our energy market strategy, as well as contributing towards strategic analyses and business intelligence challenges. An ideal candidate for this role loves advanced energy technologies, identifying new market opportunities, problem solving, process design, and leveraging insights from data to improve the way a business operates.

What You'll Do at Enel North America:
Energy Management and Optimization
• Execute complex transactions in electricity markets, which include but are not limited to registering assets into utility and ISO markets, generating energy market offers, assessing portfolio risk, and adjusting provider commitments based on internal and external input.
• Support market settlement activities and financial close in order to monetize thousands of Enel X’s assets.
• Ensure financial and operational compliance with Customer and Utility Agreements and RTO/ISO obligations which include mitigating data quality issues and managing recurring market reporting and/or transactions.
Data Analytics / Business Intelligence
• Support the identification, assessment, and origination of new business opportunities that include but are not limited to new product offerings and entry into new markets.
• Provide insight into the market opportunity and potential DR and DER potential for new programs.
• Provide detailed analyses and collaborate with cross functional teams to identify initiatives for driving improved delivery of DR and DER portfolios.
• Build & maintain our analytical infrastructure including but not limited to models, packages, and reports to manage and assess the performance of Enel X’s DR and DER portfolios.
Cross-Functional Alignment and Delivery: 
• Support key business activities and teams: 
  ○ C&I Sales: develop & deploy methods for estimating DR potential to drive new customer acquisition. 
  ○ Product Management. Support integration efforts with the digital platform that enables use of our core technology while meeting local program requirements, and provide input for continuous improvement. 
  ○ Regulatory & Institutional Affairs. Support recommendations to Enel X’s regulatory efforts by analyzing the impact of potential rule changes on the financial performance of Enel X’s portfolios.
  ○ Operations and Onboarding: Support the continuous improvement of scalable processes, apply best practices and use innovative ideas to increase market and organizational effectiveness. 
  ○ Global Product Line. Support Global teams to develop operational capabilities in other regions. 

Who You Are:
• 2+ years of experience in energy, data analytics, engineering, or similar industry with a quantitative focus OR Advanced degree in a quantitative/analytical field (Data Science, Analytics, etc.)
• In-depth understanding of object-oriented programming (R, Python, MATLAB, etc.)
• In-depth understanding of database languages (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
• In-depth understanding of user interface design (Shiny, Flask, JQuery, etc.)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred:
• A passion for the energy industry and advanced energy technologies (DR, solar, storage, EVs, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems and design new processes
• Excellent time management skills and ability to balance conflicting priorities
• Experience with full-stack development
• Demonstrated ability to both collaboratively and independently complete projects
• Self-motivation and ability to work in a fast paced, forward moving environment
• Working knowledge of data science and machine learning concepts
• Experience leading/managing technical teams or projects
• Experience with process improvement and project management (e.g Agile Development)
• Experience working with Salesforce and Salesforce APIs

What You've Accomplished:
• BA/BS in a quantitative/analytical field (Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, etc.)

What Enel North America Offers You:
The hiring range for this position is $70,600-$97,100 year. For remote positions, this is based on a national average base pay for this role. For positions in California this range will be specific to the location in California. The actual range may vary based on the geographic location of the chosen candidate. For all positions, the base pay actually offered will take into account various factors, including internal equity and job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
