The Opportunity: 
This position will manage the compliance tasks associated with monitoring, development, and implementation of policies, procedures, and internal controls to maintain compliance for EGP generation assets with ISO rules. The Manager of EGP ISO Compliance will lead the coordination of compliance activities with a focus on the SPP and AESO operational market rules and procedures for wholesale generation. Key responsibilities involve; a) compliance oversight of generation assets to ensure operations are meeting ISO obligations and identify areas for improvement, b) identification and mitigation of potential risks as well as c) managing daily compliance tasks such as internal controls, self-assessments, stakeholder training and regulatory submissions as it pertains to wholesale power generation within EGP. This role also includes collaboration with other Enel subsidiaries that need generation information from EGP to respond to RFIs or address concerns that arise in other ISO areas of overlap such as commercial or NERC reliability obligations. The Manager of EGP ISO Compliance will coordinate the development and review of power generation information and work with other subsidiaries on regulatory submissions and responses related to this information. This role will act as a primary point of contact within EGP for ISO compliance and coordination with Operations and Maintenance to ensure compliance with ISO rules. 


What You'll Do at Enel North America: 
  • Support the Compliance Officer, Senior Director EGP with implementing a premier culture and record of compliance with ISO rules at Enel Green Power North America.
  • Oversee ISO related requests for information, generation data, regulatory surveys, and associated submissions. Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to ensure timely and accurate responses. Ensure consistency and integrity of generation data across all filings submitted to various regulatory agencies.
  • Manage scheduled ISO and related regulatory submissions for EGP generation assets, ensuring all filings are completed accurately and on time. In addition to ISO required data submittals, this also includes managing the submissions for the monthly EIA-860 Electric Generator report and capacity reporting to relevant Public Utility and Service Commissions.
  • Collaborate with other Enel subsidiaries and departments in areas of overlap between ISO operational, commercial and NERC reliability requirements. Work with other subsidiaries and departments on regulatory submissions and responses related to EGP generation asset information.
  • Develop and oversee internal controls that support ISO compliance for power generation assets in the EGP business line.
  • Organize and maintain the ISO Compliance Matrices and other guidance documents for power generation assets and the associated training documentation across applicable departments within EGP.
  • Monitor and support the execution of daily ISO compliance activities by stakeholders, providing guidance, clarification, and direction to ensure obligations and deadlines are consistently met.
  • Manage the tracking and reviews of EGP’s ISO compliance status.
  • Oversee new site integration activities to ensure smooth transition between initial ISO site set up and ongoing operations and maintenance.
  • Identify and monitor important operational areas that impact ISO compliance and collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to develop action plans to mitigate compliance risk and resolve operational issues. This includes advocacy to advance Enel’s position in ISO forums.
  • Facilitate the awareness of ISO Compliance requirements across the applicable departments. Work with Subject Matter Experts to identify and resolve problems and provide support for developing a pro-compliance environment throughout all divisions. Assist all divisions with compliance challenges to avoid possible violations and financial liability.
  • Primary ISO liaison for EGP’s power generation assets. Regular participation in ISO committees and workshops that impact the EGP business line.
  • While SPP and AESO are the primary focus of this role, EGP also operates a smaller number of assets in other markets such as MISO and NYISO, which may require periodic attention. Additionally, cross-functional collaboration across markets such as in ERCOT or PJM, may be necessary to support the standardization of processes throughout the EGP portfolio.
  • Promote an environment of continuous improvement in the ISO compliance program and help develop methodologies to promote a culture of compliance and reliability.
Who You Are: 
  • Proficiency in reviewing, interpreting and applying SPP, AESO or other ISO market rules and procedures in relation to generation and operations. Experience applying these rules to renewables (wind, solar and batteries).
  • Experience in company Operations and Maintenance functions of solar, wind and battery energy storage generation to ensure compliance with ISO market rules.
  • Proficiency and exhibited ability to work with ISOs and liaise with regulators and auditors in a professional manner.
  • Exceptional managerial skills and attention to detail to analyze and organize the collection of generation data that demonstrates compliance for a large portfolio of generation assets.
  • Excellent organizational skills to handle significant amounts generation operational data for a large portfolio of generation assets.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Project Management software.
  • Must be able to work in a constantly changing environment and capable of managing multiple projects and tasks while ensuring their timely completion.
  • Ability to work off deadlines and meet them.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills to work effectively with a variety of Subject Matter Experts across different departments and disciplines within Enel. This includes excellent oral presentation skills with ability to prepare effective presentations for delivery.
  • Experience in advocating positions before ISO regulatory agencies, auditors, and related organizations.
  • Collaborative attitude and flexibility to learn and adapt with new technologies, changes in regulations and a dynamic market.
What You've Accomplished: 
  • BS degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Regulatory or related field. An advanced degree is preferable.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with ISO market rules in a compliance monitoring and enforcement Program.

What Enel North America Offers You: 
The hiring range for this position is $115,600 - $159,000 a year. For remote positions, this is based on a national average base pay for this role. For positions in California this range will be specific to the location in California. The actual range may vary based on the geographic location of the chosen candidate. For all positions, the base pay actually offered will take into account various factors, including internal equity and job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
