The Opportunity:
The Principal Business Development Associate is a highly motivated individual who will support Enel’s sales, marketing, and product development efforts. This individual can research & identify prospective customer, develop territory planning strategies with their outside sales counterparts, and secure qualified meetings to drive new opportunity development. In addition, the PBDA will be a subject matter expert, able to illustrate ROI to high level decision makers, as well as interacting with purchasing, operations, and other utility representatives. In this role, the PBDA will enjoy autonomy, as well as the support of a bright, dedicated, and collaborative sales team.

This role requires a confident and professional self-starter who is experienced with cold calling, developing relationships with key-decision makers, analyzing customer energy and facility data and has excellent verbal and written communication. An individual in this role is tasked with connecting customers with our outside sales team to discuss their pain points and introduce them to a world class solution suite offered by Enel. Proven success will be demonstrated by hitting sales metric milestones, prospecting, managing a complex sales pipeline and developing core skills to become part of our outside sales team. 



What You'll Do at Enel North America:
  • Identify, prospect and recruit customers for demand response and energy cost management solutions;
  • Support, assist and learn from outside sales counterparts;
  • Propose solutions and assist in negotiating/closing contracts for customers;
  • Sell on a national basis to Fortune 500 clients by identifying target contacts and champions, mapping out decision making processes, navigating procurement processes, and providing clear and compelling solutions.
  • Use Enel X CRM systems for pipeline management and sales progress reporting;
  • Analyze customer energy and facility data to understand a company's demand and energy-related needs and propose solutions;
  • Deliver weekly, quarterly, and annual sales metrics that exceed expectations for the role.


Who You Are & What You’ve Accomplished:
  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • 3+ years of sales experience;
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision;
  • Ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and consistently meet deadlines;
  • A proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales quotas;
  • Lead generation expertise, as well as the ability to quickly identify and qualify sales opportunities to build and maintain a pipeline for new business;
  • Capability to sell nationally (simultaneously across multiple markets) which requires both breadth and depth of understanding of both market rules and product specialization
  • Ability to develop strong customer relationships 
  • Strong client-facing and internal communication skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively support and work well with people from different disciplines;
  • Superior organizational skills and detail oriented to ensure accuracy and quality;
  • Adaptability and flexibility to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change;
  • Highly developed business acumen;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication;
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • An established network of target market contacts and strong relationships with prospective clients
    • Previous experience selling demand management and distributed energy solutions into large commercial or industrial businesses

The pay range for this position is $30.20 - $45.30 hourly. The base pay actually offered will be based on several factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, work experience, education, and internal equity.
