If you want to shape the future of energy, we are looking for an Energy Systems Integration Engineer to join our Asset Management team! 

What you will do
 
  • Support the integration of electricity meters, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and site control equipment with Enel X digital platforms 
  • Configure and commission industrial communication interfaces including Modbus TCP/IP and Modbus RTU (RS485), pulse counters, power meters etc 
  • Assist with onboarding and configuration of IoT devices and communication gateways for energy assets 
  • Provide technical support for deployed metering and control hardware, including remote diagnostics and troubleshooting 
  • Analyse energy and device telemetry data to identify operational issues and improve system performance 
  • Assist with grid compliance testing and validation of metering and control systems 
  • Support the configuration, testing, and maintenance of energy metering and control of hardware and software 
  • Develop and maintain internal documentation, integration guides, and technical procedures 
  • Write and maintain automation scripts or tools to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention 
  • Provide first-level technical support for customer queries related to metering and control installations 
  • Collaborate with vendors, engineering teams, and IT personnel to resolve technical issues 
  • Support internal systems such as CRM platforms for installation tracking, onboarding processes, and issue management 
  • Assist with testing and development of new hardware integrations and platform capabilities 

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 3 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, computer science, automation engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent technical qualification 
  • Experience working with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP or Modbus RTU 
  • Understanding networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, DNS, and remote connectivity
  • Experience integrating IoT devices, energy metering systems, or industrial control equipment 
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose hardware, networking, and software issues 
  • Basic scripting or automation experience using languages such as Python or shell scripting 
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple technical tasks simultaneously 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with internal teams, customers, and technical vendors 
  • Willingness to travel occasionally across Ireland and the UK to support installations and commissioning 
  • Valid driver's license
