The Opportunity:
The Senior Business Development Manager is a subject matter expert who will primarily evangelize Enel’s demand response and energy cost management solutions, while driving revenue growth for the company. Working in a hybrid capacity both out in the field and remotely, the BDM will enjoy autonomy, as well as the support of a bright, dedicated, and collaborative sales team.
This role requires a confident and professional self-starter who is experienced interfacing with executive level leadership to solve big business problems, aggressive in finding and closing business, comfortable engaging the full range of stakeholders across the customer organization, focused on meeting the customer’s needs, and able to work well within a team of sales managers in a rapidly growing business. An individual in this role is tasked with connecting customer pain points to a world class solution suite offered by Enel. Proven success prospecting and managing a complex sales process for consultative services is critical.
What You'll Do at Enel North America:
- Responsibilities, include, but not limited to:
- Prospect and recruit customers for demand response and energy cost management solutions
- Develop customer market segmentation, targeting strategies, and sales planning in accordance with objectives of the sales team.
- Analyze customer energy and facility data to understand a company's demand and energy-related needs and propose solutions;
- Execute sales process and engage power base at target customers
- Propose solutions and negotiate / close contracts for these customers;
- Use Enel X CRM systems for pipeline management and sales progress reporting;
- Deliver weekly, quarterly, and annual sales metrics that exceed expectations for the role.
Who You Are:
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision;
- Ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and consistently meet deadlines;
- A proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales quotas;
- Lead generation expertise, as well as the ability to quickly identify and qualify sales opportunities to build and maintain a pipeline for new business;
- Experience closing sales for energy sourcing solutions, energy hardware, energy software, or energy management services in the commercial, industrial, or institutional markets;
- Ability to illustrate ROI to high level decision makers, as well as interacting with purchasing, operations, and other utility representatives;
- Ability to develop strong customer relationships
- Strong client-facing and internal communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively support and work well with people from different disciplines;
- Superior organizational skills and detail oriented to ensure accuracy and quality;
- Adaptability and flexibility to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change;
- Highly developed business acumen;
- Excellent written and verbal communication;
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
- Up to 50% of domestic travel.
What You've Accomplished:
- Bachelor’s degree;
- 7+ years of outside sales and/or account management experience;
- 5+ years of B2B sales and/or account management experience;

What Enel North America Offers You:
The hiring range for this position is $72,800.00 to $100,100.00 per year of base pay. Please review additional details below. As part of an overall rewards package, this position is also eligible to participate in the Company’s Sales Commission Program (SCP). Variable incentive compensation is one means by which Enel seeks to attract, reward and retain the highest quality talent and reward individuals who meet and exceed financial performance and profitable growth goals. Enel strives to align pay, performance and values through the SCP by offering a highly competitive incentive model
For remote positions, the hiring range is based on a national average base pay for this role. For positions in California this range will be specific to the location in California. The actual range may vary based on the geographic location of the chosen candidate. For all positions, the base pay actually offered will take into account various factors, including internal equity and job-related knowledge, skills and experience. At Enel, base pay is one part of your total compensation package.
