The Opportunity:
This position will involve work at multiple BESS(Battery Energy Storage System) power plants*** maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting AC and DC circuits ranging from medium voltage (345kV and below) to 12VDC. The equipment that will need to be maintained includes: station service electrical equipment such as motors, and motor controls, electrical switchgear, transformers, inverters, solar PV panels, panel tracking mechanisms, electrical protective devices, main and auxiliary generators, lighting, power supplies, HVAC systems, security and battery support systems. This position will be responsible for troubleshooting and overhauling such equipment as well as preventative and predictive maintenance activities for the afore mentioned equipment.
The position will serve as a Lead Technician who will directly supervise day to day activity of the BESS Technicians (up to 10 personal) and coordinate/supervise contractors. This will involve daily scheduling of activities, support activities for the Supervisor/Manager, review/create work procedures, and support daily activities of Technicians by providing technical advice when needed. Attend meetings at the request of the local Supervisor/Manager and fill in when required. Keep accurate and up to date records of onsite contractor hours.
 Lead Tech reviews manuals and schematic diagrams to determine the tasks, tools, equipment and parts needed and will coordinate Plan of Days, help troubleshoot complicated issues, and oversee the day to day operations of the technicians.

*** This position is an onsite role at our Saltillo, Texas site with responsibilities for our nearby Cooper, Texas site as well. Minimal travel can be expected to support additional sites. What You'll Do at Enel North America:
  • Adherence to the company’s values and behaviors as defined by the EGPNA policies and handbooks
  • Provide leadership to a team of up to 10 Field Service Technicians with a focus on reliability based philosophies to include executing prioritized work schedules, mentoring, coaching, and evaluating performance
  • Responsible to execute daily scheduling philosophy utilizing a prioritized list of work provided by Planning with a focus on maximizing generation and also ensuring proactive work is prioritized and completed.
  • Installs, tests, maintains and troubleshoots, and replaces BESS plant related electrical equipment.
  • Perform current and voltage calculations as necessary
  • Lead to perform plant related preventive, reactive, and predictive maintenance
  • Lead to Initiate SAP Notifications and generate maintenance records associated with the electrical systems for the plants
  • Perform balance of plant and switchyard work as required
  • Act as a safety role model, encourage and recognize others completing safe acts and intervene when unsafe acts are being practiced
  • Lead to have after-hours availability to be dispatched to site requiring immediate attention.

Who You Are:
  • Ability to use electrical test equipment such as, DMM, meggers and multi process calibration equipment
    • IR Certificate Level 1
    • Ultrasound qualifications a plus
  • Strong knowledge in electrical theory and troubleshooting techniques
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
    • A clean driving record means in the last 3 years, no driving-related suspension, revocation or cancellation, no disqualifying offenses, no more than 2 moving violations and no reckless driving incidents.
    • In the last 5 years, no major driving offenses including DUI/DWI, refusal to test, leaving the scene, driving a commercial vehicle without a CDL, or at-fault fatal accident
  • Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment (e.g., voltage testers, amp clamps, hydraulic torque equipment, alignment tools, and various hand and power tools).
  • Experience with industrial operations and maintenance
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of time.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime on holidays and weekends and to work on short notice as needed due to on-call scheduling
  • While performing the duties of this job, employee will be exposed to reasonable hot/cold ambient weather conditions prevalent at any given time.
  • Other hazardous conditions include: exposure to energized electrical equipment and exposure to rotating equipment.

What You've Accomplished:
  • 5+ year’s relevant experience in the renewable energy sector or
  • 3+ years related experience and Associates Degree/Tech School Certification or
  • B.S. Degree (electrical or technical) and 6 months or more of applicable experience
  • Supervisory experience of field staff as a lead or foreman
