The Opportunity:
This position will be part of a team that is responsible for monitoring, developing and implementing North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Standard policies and practices at Enel Power Generation. The Senior NERC Compliance Analyst will perform duties in the coordination of activities primarily related to the reliability operations and planning (693) suite of NERC standards and the compliance program including the management of internal controls, compliance monitoring and compliance evaluations. The focus of this role within the NERC Compliance Group at Enel will be managing a program for internal spot checks and self-assessments. In addition, this role will also focus on key compliance monitoring and evaluation areas as well as facilitating the team in the identification, mitigation and submission of self-reports and timely responses to Regional Entity spot checks. This position will be responsible for consulting with all divisions across Enel to provide guidance on the correct NERC procedures and responses to compliance concerns.

 What You'll Do at Enel North America:
  • Assist the Director of NERC Compliance with implementing a premier culture and record of compliance with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NERC standards, procedures and internal controls.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and exhibited ability to work with NERC and liaise with regulators in a professional manner.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to analyze and manage the collection of evidence to demonstrate compliance.
  • Assist in the development and revisions of procedures and training documentation to maintain compliance.
  • Manage the collection and organization of evidence to support Enel’s quarterly internal self-audits (quarterly spot checks). Assemble reports for evidence and data analysis review.
  • Monitor important areas that impact compliance such as; Transmission Operator and Balancing Authority NERC Data Requests submitted to Enel to ensure timely and comprehensive responses by Subject Matter Experts.
  • Perform compliance evaluations on evidence and documentation from Subject Matter Experts in areas such as; Facility Ratings, Protection System Maintenance, Real Time Operations and Facility Interconnection.
  • Manage self-reports if applicable including NERC Align portal submissions and organization of mitigation activities with Stakeholders. Ensure timely responses to any Regional Entity questions or RFIs.
  • Manage Regional Entity spot checks by working with stakeholders to compile requested evidence to demonstrate compliance and ensure submission by required deadline.
  • Facilitate the communication of NERC Compliance requirements across the different departments of Enel. Working with Subject Matter Experts to identify and resolve problems and provide support for developing a pro-compliance environment throughout all divisions. Assist all divisions with compliance challenges in order to avoid possible violations and financial liability.
  • Assist in preparing divisions for audits by regulatory authorities. Assist with responses to requests for information (RFI) by regulatory authorities. Work in cooperation with the departments across Enel to resolve difficult and controversial technical problems for the reliability compliance program.
  • Represent Enel at federal, state and regional reliability workshops. Regular participation in Regional Entity compliance workshops.
  • Promote an environment of continuous improvement in the NERC Standards compliance program and help develop methodologies to promote a culture of compliance and reliability.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NERC CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection) standards, procedures and internal controls.
  • Monitor important areas that impact compliance such as; NERC Data Requests submitted to Enel to ensure timely and comprehensive responses by Subject Matter Experts (OT, Network Delivery, Physical Security, and Cyber)
  • Perform compliance evaluations on evidence and documentation from Subject Matter Experts in areas such as; Physical , OT Cyber assets, Cyber Security monitoring tools and administration, CIP Policy reviews and quarterly verifications, authorized access and required CIP training.
  • Facilitate the communication of NERC Compliance requirements across the different departments of Enel through CIP Communications, Low Impact and Medium Impact Stakeholder communication distribution groups. Working with Subject Matter Experts to identify and resolve problems and provide support for developing a pro-compliance environment throughout all divisions. Assist all divisions with compliance challenges in order to avoid possible violations and financial liability.
  • Promote an environment of continuous improvement in the NERC CIP Standards compliance program and help develop methodologies to promote a culture of compliance and reliability.
Who You Are:
  • Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office and Project Management software
  • Must be able to work in a constantly changing environment and capable of managing multiple projects and tasks and ensuring their timely completion.
  • Excellent oral presentation skills; ability to prepare effective presentations for delivery.
  • Ability to deal effectively with regulators, auditors, and stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills to work effectively with a variety of Subject Matter Experts across different departments within Enel.
What You've Accomplished:
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field is required.   
  • Minimum 1-2 years of NERC compliance, regulatory or related experience.
  • Specific NERC experience is preferred.
  • Training program experience is preferred
