The Opportunity:
The Market Strategy group within Risk Management and Strategy is responsible for developing company’s view with comprehensive analysis of North American energy markets. This includes developing and maintaining short-term and long-term forecasts for energy, ancillary services, capacity, REC, and emission allowance prices. This modeling effort helps drive investment decisions for new renewable projects (wind, solar, battery, etc.), hedging activity, and development of corporate strategy in NA.  

What You'll Do at Enel North America:
• Manage short to medium term wholesale power and natural gas fundamental market analysis for ERCOT, SPP, and PJM to support trading and business development activities
• Manage databases of commodity prices including RECs and natural gas pricing used in forecasting models
• Apply multiple sources of information to stay abreast of fundamental drivers including supply and transmission changes, natural gas demand and supply, state, and federal level energy policy
• Be the go-to market expert on market trends and lead research in ECM’s areas of interest
• Lead the analyst team in deriving actionable intelligence from complex quantitative data analysis and develop a market view
• Prepare and lead management presentations summarizing and highlighting key points
• Oversee the delivery of periodic reports clearly conveying the team ‘s market views orally, in writing, and through data visualization
• Train junior analysts to perform the market analyst function and use available data tools

What You've Accomplished:
• 7+ years of experience in an analytical role at a bank, energy trading firm, ISOs and/or utilities
• Knowledge of U.S. power industry structures, policies, regulations, and market fundamentals
• Experience working in US natural gas markets and demonstrate an understanding of the primary market drivers and pipeline system
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Power, Economics and/ or Business
